Boiling Baby

The Princess has a boil on her bum. Odd. I am totally assuming after some online research yesterday, that is what it is. Ask-a-Nurse said to call the doctor's afterhours number, to which I was informed that it was a 4 to 5 hour wait for call backs. So, around 10:30 pm....it was suggested we take her in to the "urgent" care joint first thing when they open today, to avoid all the FLU invested people! Boil vs. flu? Oh the delights of motherhood continue. So here shortly we will venture off to see. There are only 2 pediatric ones, the first you'll recall the YoungOne's mosquito adventure from the 4th of July, the screaming & the rude doctor incident (144th & center)~so I will never return to that one. Since they are both nowhere close to home, we will venture to the other.

Where do boils come from? She bathes. She is not one of those dirty babies you see out in public and just want to take a wet wipe to them. Apparently they were more common in "the olden days". My mom said my uncle used to get them and Hubby said his sister & brother got them when they were kids. Hell, his sister just had them over the summer, a ton of them, ick, this is why we are going to the doc right away, cause apparently they can spread. OH MY!

Enough icky talk. Turkey day was uneventful. Been chasing a Chinese food desire for 2 days now, but it's been closed for Turkey day. Hubby had been chasin a rib desire, but his joint was open last night.....boo hoo for me. Oh well, I'll save that denero for stamp group this week!

Ever checked your mail to late? Apparently in my boil obsession, there were drinks to be had last night and I missed out. Make up drinks to be scheduled I guess.

My children's holiday shopping requires one more thing for YoungOne and some more trinkets & goodies for their stockings but other than that THEY are done. Yippee. The rest of my shopping (aka Sam Goody cards for the nieces & nephews) must wait til bonus check day.

Oh Yum! Friday is toasted ravioli's, lobsta tail & cocktails for free! (other things as well, but those are tops!) I love the company Christmas party! Though Hubby's boss's wives are over the top (so much $$ they can just volunteer their well dressed time away) my sister in law (the cat one) is there and the brother in law and another couple who's wife I like (she is a teacher and just inherited a nice chunk of cash, lucky girl!) The Boys are off to Griswierd for the whole weekend, My cousin is watching Princess Boil on the Bum and being the Designated Driver for us ala minivan, So I am jazzed!

Welp, Princess is whining in the highchair, tired of sitting I do suppose! Ouch! (it's up higher, i am not that mean!)

Damn I am old.

I was recently contemplating suggesting a Holiday Cookie Exchange. You know, where you & your friends get together over cocktails and everyone brings a plate or 2 of cookies and you swap, so no one has to bake a ton of different cookies for their holiday gatherings.......

Well I kept it silent after recieving an invitation to a "sensations" party. I had suddenly gotten hit with the old lady stick. Baking/sharing cookies vs. sex toys. Gee no competition there! So I thought I'd put my exchange idea here instead. I know none of my friends host their own holidays, but perhaps this could be a fun way to have goodies to take to others! I know December is quickly filling up. So, I am puting my old lady idea out there, any particular day other than the 12th!

See, I am old.

More to post later. Just had to share my recent realization. Damn crying kids.

How long was I really gone?

Based on the sight of my home, it must have been more than 4 little days. I haven't managed to correct the problems yet either. Well, laundry mountain, I did conquer and the dishes. Though how one's home could have dirty dishes when my boys were fed a diet of Burger King, I have yet to figure out. Yesterday's intention were to clean house. A roast was prepared in it's honor. At least that meant fewer dishes to do anyway. Needless to say, no dent was made. SO today, I stare off and wish it would go away. Maybe the babies will nap, in effort for me to take care of some crap! (I think I have seen one to many Cat in the Hat commercials for I am beginning to rhyme!)

It all must get done so I can begin my Christmas joy on Friday. There a tree to be trimmed! Ok, the top at least so that all these little fingers don't destroy everything. My Princess will surely be the one to topple the tree. (more Seussing!) Neither of her brothers ever cared more than to rearrange ornaments and break a few too. Very worried about it this year. Perhaps cause of my "borrowed" child. He is honestly not very coordinated and he tends to worry me and now since my girl has figured out how to get to a seated position all on her own. This will be a trying season to say the least. Speaking of...I really need to scope out what I have bought, I think the only one needing of more purchases is my OlderOne and a few odds & ends for family & friends. (OK! enough with the rhymes)

See you really couldn't have missed my non posting self! Does anyone know where I can hire an elf! Ok! I am done! Honest!

The Grand Vacation!

Oh where to start!

Hmm. Back at the beach? It was a tad windy (yeah...findin that hard to believe huh?) and a bit chilly. The cutest thing happened, the babies were sitting on the beach and a plane flew over and it was one of those banner ones and it said...."Marisa, Will you marry me?" It was so touching. And we got to see Marisa's giant rock of a ring. She was pretty easy to spot, not alot of people on the beach in the cold, let alone one all smiles staring at what had to be at least 2 carats on her hand!

Anyway, Princess got some sand, ocean water and some broken seashells. Then we ventured up the coast to Maine.

Oh, I digress a moment. Thought it'd be cool to have some lottery tickets for the scrapbook. Figured since it was out of a machine at a visitor's center, guaranteed losers right? No, Princess now has 2 winning tickets for her book, a $2 and an $6. I didn't want to cash them in. Thought it cooler to have winning tickets in there. That reminds me, need to check her New Hampshire Powerball ticket....

Anyway the super outlet mall was not what I thought. Here an outlet mall is all hooked together. In Maine, you must travel via your auto to the section of "mall" that has the stores you desire. Got The Babe some cute shoes at Old Navy, a darling sweater from the Hartstring outlet and my souveniers for others from the Kitterly Trading Post. (Kind of like a Cabela's.)

Stopped for some native grub at a little place off of a chanel of the ocean. It was yummy. Didn't have any lobsta though. I know. I know. But they overnite FedEx.

Yesterday we didn't do much, a quick (1/2 hour drive) to the "local" Walmart to reload my travel baby supplies and that was it before packing for the airport. This is where my real story starts. Can you believe that at Plane Hijacker Airport (aka Logan International) MY LUGGAGE WASN'T EVEN SEARCHED! no TSA we rifled through your undies notes, no we checked tag nothing. HMM. No wonder people get knives and crap to and fro still. I am outraged! Here at home, everything was searched even my stinking crappy carseat! Before I even got my ticket! Granted, I am a woman with a baby, but they are "supposedly" doing it behind the scenes, so they wouldn't know my bag from the lunatics.....

Well this will have to do for now. Mo lata. Why do they leave r's off everything there?
And oh, my, they caused me road rage & I wasn't driving!

Check the family page for pictures!

Did you all see the crazy Rhode Island fire?

Talk about kismet, we were contemplating what mall to hit and kicked around just going to a big one in RH. well, we opted for the Boston one cause it would have been an hour to the other! In order to get to the other we would have had to pass thru Pawtucket, which is where the massive mill fire was. Odd. All the news stories here have matching names....massive mill.....wicked winds......on and on.

The Princess is the proud owner of her own Macy's shopping bag and the most darling pink Christmas stocking from PBK. The kids got crabby before I made it to Lord & Taylor....bummer.

Today, it's not supposed to be so windy so we are headed to New Hampshire to get my Princess some sand from the beach, I think we will also grab some ocean water, bring it home and warm it up so she can say she dipped her toes in the ocean! Then after the ocean viewing we are kickin it up to Maine to hit the outlet mall! Woo Hoo! Picked up the boys their little souveniers yesterday. Postcards in the mail today~! Watch your mail! Don't worry, I'll be home to remind you!

I miss my boys. BUT you know, I haven't yelled or even raised my voice in days. They couldn't even get me to do it before I left cause I was already in "I am going on vacation & you can't ruin my mood" mode! Hopefully this respit can carry on home. I enjoy just being the happy mommy~!

See Ya Soooooooooon. (why does vacation go so fast?)

Gone with The Wind!

Literally.....The wind is crazy out here! Yes, be ever so impressed I am blogging away from home! Yesterday's flights were are smooth, but shortly after we landed lots were being canceled! SO good thing I went for the sleep deprived flight! My Princess is having the best time with her little man. They are too cute, I will post pictures when I get home I promise!

Well we are off to hit the Mall. It has a Macy's and a Pottery Barn, yeah, I know I have my own but I haven't gone there yet either! Maybe I will post again before I leave on Sunday! Maybe not!

Dilly Dally Dilly Dally

What an odd set of words. But it's me. In less than 24 hours I am going to be headed east and what am I doing? Packing? No. Laundry? No. Cleaning? No. Blogging? Yup!

I have many things to accomplish today. In the wind, with 3 small children. Not a good thing. Contemplating a need for reinforcements. Lets see how that quest goes.

I plan on being in bed by 7 tonight. At the moment this is not feeling like a difficult mission. I am beat. I am tired alot I know. Maybe after this 4 days respit, I will be renewed & refreshed. Yeah, I am not holding my breath either on that!

Well off to wash the things that I need for the suitcase, the Princess, she is good to go! What a good girl! Ask me that when I get back after many hours on a plane with her. Now there is a test of perfection!

Miss me! I expect quality blog reading material when I get home from you all!

Sunday, November 9

Make ya laugh!

Go check out the "Family" moblog. I got a funny! Especially you Mr Clapton is God, but Burger King sucks!

Oh yeah, My Girl started her party tricks before vacation! She can pull herself up on stuff now!

It's Good to Have Friends.

I went out last night with my "oldest" friend , the blog goddess and my youngest & newest friend (she doesn't have a link). We had a very good time I do believe! Well I know I did! I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt! I truelly can't recall the last time that happened,

Apparently, My Princess is the Baby of the Week (Remember last week she was on tv for her 7 mth birthday?) Well they pick and we get a yummy ice cream cake. Mind you I am a tad caked out, but when I get the scoop on how to claim it, it can live in the freezer for awhile! Another friend of mine called me this morning, telling me how cute she was and if I'd seen her on tv. I said duh, last week. She of course explained it was today and we get the cake! Damn, I didn't get her 2nd tv appearance on tape. :(

Yippee, time to really start packing! And knocking off the to do before Wednesday list! NUMBER 1: Get baby some teeth and over her now boogery nose. (Hey, it's a mommy blog, I am allowed to on occasion say boogery. OOps, twice!)

Thanks again ladies! Let's do it again at the end of the month for The Mouse Pimp!

Feeling Metaphoric

Well today is the day. The beginning of the Grand 'ol Thirties! My parents have both asked me if I feel old, the question was put back to THEM....Do they feel old enough to have a 30 year old daughter? They both said indeed they do. Well then, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Just kidding!

My Girl was up at 3:30 singing Happy Birthday to Mommy, not really, she was having teeth issues, but still, I found myself reflecting happily on my life in the present. Staring out the window, I found myself wondering if my Mom sat in that same place with me 30 years ago. She I believe turns 60 next month. (I live in the same house as I was born in. The only real change is the couch is different but in the same spot, and a bay window instead of a single.) I found myself ever so thankful that I indeed did survive the Twenties. In the beginning of them, I had my doubts. They did make a turn for the better. Though I am now 3 decades old, I firmly believe this will be one of the best so far. The teens, I met the 2 "men" that I will forever love. The 20's, I "hated" them both and in the middle of the 20's I married the right one. So karma is on track. I have 3 beautiful, healthy, reasonable happy spoiled children and with the exception of not being independently wealthy, life is perfect. Knock on wood.

I did have more to reflect on, maybe a list of 30 things about me? But the Princess is singing. Grouchily.

Boycott.

My YoungOne boycotted Halloween. I got his costume on long enough to go to the neighbors and he refused to put it back on. So we made our costumeless visits to family, dropped OlderOne off at my brothers and a trick or treatin he went. Thankfully he got lots of candy, cause I am beat down tired today. Sugar sugar sugar!

My friend (the one we are going to visit next week!) her little boy is 3 weeks older than my Princess and he is pulling him self up on stuff! My girl feels complete if she can pull herself onto your lap on the floor! So she should learn all sorts of party tricks while we are there! Yippee. Better ones than making me fish out paper from her mouth, curse of the older brothers.

Nemo is out tomorrow, wishin it were today, cause today is the perfect lay on the couch and watch movies day...Cold, dark, rainy.....ick.
